it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are amazing. As many of these students have been learning remotely for the last two years, it’s their first time really experiencing school in a classroom. They spend a huge amount of time in the classroom, and it’s important that it’s designed to be their home away from home.
Right now I spend a lot of time tracing, cutting, or gluing words to personalize items.
Other times I am purchasing cut-out letters, and writing with permanent markers (which sometimes damage) to personalize or label items throughout the school year. This can be extremely time-consuming.
Since we use bulletin boards, displays, and labels around the classroom to teach content, promote diversity, and engage, it would be amazing to have a Cricut to make this process quicker and devote more time to the students and their well-being.
Students would be able to use this while working on their Project Based Learning assignments and add individual touches. Students would also be able to design and create specific items to reflect their social-emotional learning and display those areas with things that specifically represent them.
