Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Instead of just reading about animal adaptations or environmental issues, students will design, prototype, and 3D print real solutions—making their learning visible, tangible, and deeply meaningful. The hands-on use of CAD software and 3D printing tools builds critical thinking, spatial reasoning, and digital literacy—skills that will serve them in future academics and careers.
My primary goal is to help students see themselves as innovators and problem-solvers.
Through the “Design a Better Animal Habitat” project, students will apply what they’ve learned in science to real-world challenges like climate change and animal survival. I want them to learn how to research, design, test, and improve—building both confidence and competence. Another goal is to expose students to industry-standard technology early on, so they feel comfortable with the kind of tools they may one day use in STEM careers.
My students are incredibly curious, creative, and resilient.What makes them truly special is their willingness to try, to collaborate, and to grow—even when the task is challenging.
