My students come to school every day to feel loved and supported while they get a quality education. They deserve the best opportunities at our school because they don’t always have them outside of school. I know they can all be successful because not only are they learning math and science in my classroom, but they are also learning life skills and social emotional learning strategies that they will keep with them forever. I want my students to be academically, emotionally, and socially prepared for life, and I can help them with this through the way I teach math and science.
Sometimes, when people think about public schools, they already have preconceived notions.
What they don't understand is that these kids have so much love to give and a lot of them just need one adult that they can feel close to to make their lives so much happier. I teach in Des Moines because I love my students and want to offer them the best education experience so they will continue to graduate, go to college and remember that I was there to encourage them everyday.
My Project
The items I have submitted for this project are ones that will help each student while they are in this unique back and forth battle of being hybrid and virtual. I have included things that some will each individually get, as well as things that will help me teach them over the computer.
The most important items in my project are styluses, headphones, and calculators for each student so they have what they need at home in order to be successful while learning online.
I have also included a document camera, which I will use while teaching math so everyone can follow along in their own book at home. Lastly, I am hoping to get the NearPod teacher addition because that lets me create interactive lessons that students can write, draw, or type on to help increase their engagement.
