Demonstrating Drawing and Painting On the Big Screen
My students need a wireless document camera so they can all see drawing and painting demonstrations. My largest class has 40 students, too many to gather around me.
Do you remember watching your art teacher demonstrate a painting or drawing technique in a class of 25? Can you imagine trying to see a demonstration in a class of 40?
I teach art in a Terrific High School.
We have a very diverse population with immigrant students from many different countries. Students who may struggle in English or Math, because of the language barrier, still love to come to art class where they can follow step by step procedure. I love teaching them because of their willingness to learn, their creativity and unique ways of expression. My students teach me new things every day.
My Project
I am looking forward to using the wireless camera projector to project assignments for all students to see. Many Foundation Art students struggle with the concepts of one and two point perspective. With the camera, they can follow step by step and increase their ability to understand and use perspective correctly.
My painting students often struggle with mixing and matching paint. I can show them how to mix and match all at the same time.
The wireless capability will allow me to move the projector to different areas in my classroom. This flexibility is needed to demonstrate the many different ideas, techniques and procedures that we use in class each day.
Thank you for considering my project.
I will be using the camera projector in every art class, every day. I am looking forward to having the ability for each student to have a front row seat to my demonstrations and to allow them to project their work to each other. The possibilities of use for this camera are nearly endless. I believe that students will grasp art concepts more readily with a better view, and that they will in turn produce better art work.
