Research and experience has shown that students must particpate in democratic processes and simulations in order to become engaged citizens and active voters. My students always love creating and running a campaign to elect a class president! The tools and materials requested will allow my students to create high-quality campaign materials including buttons, stickers, brochures, posters, and other printed materials. Each year, this project demonstrates how creative my students are -- and how much they care about important social issues. It is truly amazing to see students go from feeling apathetic and disengaged with government and politics to wanting to do everything they can to make an impact in our society -- even if they aren't quite old enough to vote.
