Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Remember those days of sitting in your seat, working quietly ALL day in school? Those days are long gone! My students are a lively bunch of diverse first graders, thirsty to learn something new each day. Our days are filled with meaningful learning experiences and activities that keep them on their feet most of the day!
My students thrive in a classroom environment that celebrates the cultures and diversity around them and teaches them tolerance of others.
Students need opportunities to truly understand their classmates and their differences and learn how to build a strong, friendly classroom and school community.
My Project
Students will experience a classroom environment filled with rich, diverse learning opportunities that promote the cultural differences among them. My students will learn about their classmates and their cultures through learning activities that include reading books, cooking, singing and language exploration.
These books, posters, flags and multicultural crayons will help my students have an amazing journey learning about the diversity around them.
They will explore diversity through hands-on projects and art activities that will utilize multicultural crayons. They will taste foods, understand costumes and garbs, find countries on maps, learn words in other languages and identify flags of other countries.
