My Students

I have the honor of teaching third graders who attend an International Baccalaureate elementary school in San Diego, California.

My students are a creative, enthusiastic, inquisitive, and diverse group of children who embody all that is right in society.

Students who attend our school are taught an international curriculum that values the diversity of our world and encourages them to think of themselves as members of the global community. They show empathy for each other and the world at large.

My Project

My students recently received two lap trays and they love them! The lap trays allow them to get out of their hard plastic chairs and move around the room to work. The trays have hard tops and sit up off the ground so the children use them for writing, math, and their computers. Sitting in hard plastic chairs for long periods of time is not ideal for anyone, much less 8 and 9 year olds.

We need six more lap trays because two just isn't enough for 27 students.

My students are always asking to move around the classroom to complete their work so we need more options and I would love to be accommodate more students with the additionally lap trays.

The soft seats are so flexible. The students will able to use them to lay their heads on while reading, to sit on with the lap trays, and at their seats for extra comfort while learning. Innovative and flexible seating in the classroom will increase opportunities for movement and comfort. Happy and comfy students are more productive and learn more throughout the day.
