Delightfully Dazzling Dance Bows for Middle School Dance Team
Help me give my students dazzling dance bows for disseminating school spirit and culture at athletic events and performances.

My Students
Our dance team consists of 19 young ladies ranging from grades 2 to 7 with a multitude of character and excitement. Each young lady has a passion for dance with the hopes of carrying over early-aged skill to a more advanced level in upper grades and post secondary education.
While a couple of the young ladies on the team have formal dance training (ballet, jazz, lyrical and tap), most of the young ladies are novice with a deep-rooted passion for performing arts.
Most members of the team have indicated a desire for formal training, but the inability to afford such services, which is why most young ladies decided to join the team.
Our team combines training, performance, and competition opportunities in dance and poms. Our goal is to support our school and county with school spirit and service. Our team provides a foundation for those interested in joining dance teams and programs in high school. We practice two days a week after school to prepare for performances at football games, basketball games, school assemblies, and competition.
I am a volunteer coach for the team (which is still in its first year of existence)!
My Project
Team sports build a sense of community with the school and promote physical wellness. A few students take dance lessons outside of school, but lack a school performing group within which to put their skills to use. Costumes and dance attire are costly individual expenses that are also fundamental to our team. Consequently, I have chosen to reach out to the greater DonorsChoose community to see if perhaps I can surprise the 2019-2020 dance team with dance bows and headbands to keep costs in an affordable range for those dancers that can only afford an outfit and dance shoes.
My philosophy of dance is to provide the opportunity for students to grow, to express themselves creatively, and to have fun dancing regardless of their previous experience, background or ability to afford supplies.
Our start up (1st year in the making) dance team will need hair bows and headbands to enhance school pep rallies, parade participation and competition performances, as well as make each girl on the team feel even more beautiful than the joy that her performance brings to our school and to the greater community.
