This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every year, I select various heritage months to focus on in my art room. This year, I will be highlighting the beauty of Chinese art and artists, so starting off with the Lunar New Year is perfect.

This Lunar New Year is the year of the wood dragon and will surely spark creativity, as most students love the mystery and power of dragons.

My hope is to create a variety of dragon art that can be displayed during our schools Heritage Night. Our families hosting tables representing China will be surrounded by beautiful art.

I have selected tempera paints for K-2 because they are bright, easy to use and dry quickly. This important since the dragons will be large and colorful.
