This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting small group sets of decodable readers to help my students gain confidence and fluency in their reading abilities. Decodable books allow students to practice and apply the letter-sound relationships they are learning. When using these texts, children practice, apply, and master decoding skills which will help them become better readers.
My students will benefit from decodable texts that allow them to apply what they learned in phonics in a connected text.
With your assistance, my student will have tools that are necessary to practice with phonics, boost reading fluency, and lay the groundwork for building solid reading comprehension. This practice will ultimately help to set the stage to help my students have a lifetime of successful reading.
