This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Kearns science students will have tools to explore a collection of minerals. Students will use the tools to stay engaged and explore the minerals that make up rocks and make up our planet. Students will discovere a mineral's property by scratching, streaking, using a magenet, using acid to discover the identity of mineals. Students will log their observation and practice writing logging their collections. They will also collaborate with each other while making their observations and discuss the physical properties as they move through their exploration of minerals. Students will have a hands on learning experience.
