My Students

As a first year kindergarten teacher, I have entered the teaching profession in an abnormal form, making it more challenging due to having such limited income to get the resources needed to support my students through virtual learning. Can you imagine how our little ones feel? Entering school for the very first time in an abnormal way? Although, we are entering the school year in an abnormal form, I want to provide my students a virtual learning experience that is full of magical resources that still gives the ability to learn at home that will be forever remembered. What counts is being able to provide a successful learning regardless if it is continuation of distance learning or entering in a face-to-face.

My students comes from a Title I public school, and about 60% percent of my students receive free or reduced cost lunch.

Given no option, my kindergartners have entered the school year seeing their classmates and their teacher through an iPad screen. With just a screen in front of them, I also want to be able to provide visual hands on materials that can be used to enhance their learning abilities at home.

My Project

Kindergarten is a crucial grade level where the foundation is set for structure learning. In kindergarten, my students are learning phonics, what's the letter, what's the sound. In addition, my students are also learning how letters make sounds, and when letters are put together they make words. Many of my students range from different learning abilities, which requires visual learning tools to aid as a support to help my students understand the concepts of phonics.

With visual phonics learning materials, students will be able to engage in phonics learning through hands-on.

In addition, my students will be able to identify each letter and its sound by visually seeing the letters and making a connection using the hands on learning materials.
