This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

These kiddos have been through a lot. This year has already proven to be a huge adjustment. In first grade, we are working so hard on learning to read. I have noticed that many of my kids are lacking the basic foundational skills for reading. We are taking our lessons way back to the basics and we will push through to become READERS!!

My Project

My students are far below in their reading ability. They have come to first grade after two years of disrupted learning. However, we are ready to put in the work to get them reading. We will do this but focusing on the reading basics and helping them learn to decode.

These small reader sets will help them read successfully and be able to do it on their own.

There is a lot of work to do but when they finally decode on their own they will feel success and find a love for reading.
