I use decodables during small reading groups on a daily basis. These groups are short but hit the hardest. I am able to focus on areas of need and work on those specific areas. The problem is that my decodable library is very small and I run out of books very quickly.
The children get really excited about decodables!
They are able to read for the first time independently. They gain confidence and fluency with the books that are appropriate for learning how to read. it is amazing to watch them use their phonics skills and become readers!
