Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first grade students are developing literacy skills and learning to apply phonics rules to read texts independently. We have time built into our schedule daily for students to read independently or with a buddy to practice newly taught skills and improve their fluency.

Students stay motivated when exposed to a variety of texts, so I have created this fundraiser to bring more decodable books into our classroom!

We are a title 1 school, and some families do not have access to many books in their home environments. Help create a motivating and equitable reading experience for my first graders. They will build confidence by reading these decodable books!
