My Project

WIN Time is a specific time set aside during the day to work on what the students need (W=What I=I N=need). During this time, we focus on specific reading skills in a small group. All our activities focus on that reading skill.

The one missing piece is decodable books.

The company we use recently created Decodable Books! These books would give extra practice to beginning readers. Each book has a specific skill to focus on while reading a story. This kit has multiple books for each student to have their own copy of the book to follow along, read independently or read with a partner. These books would be used over and over again. They would not go home but be part of my classroom materials for teaching every year.

The goal would be that the decodable books will help students read more fluently. Decodable books help young readers to build confidence in their journey to learn how to read. They will learn to recognize words quickly and read more fluent the more opportunities they are given to read books on their level.

Ms. Hauser will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 31.
