My Project
I am requesting sets of Junior Learning leveled readers for my first-grade students. These books focus on specific reading skills, such as short vowels, digraphs, and consonant blends.
Decodable readers are very important for first graders!
They need a chance to apply their phonics skills to decode words. They allow students to feel successful, as the books contain only skills already introduced. Students need a lot of practice when they're learning to read!
Having "real" books rather than "paper books" makes students feel proud of their reading. These books are super clear and very decodable. I would love to add them to my classroom library for students to use in small groups or independent practice.
