Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In today’s world, critical thinking is more important than ever. Our speech and debate team are a group of hardworking students learning how to navigate the complexities of government policies, societal issues, and the art of argumentation. Speech and debate helps students to be prepared for high school, college, and navigating the real world as an adult. They have the opportunity to debate the pros and cons of proposed government policies, such as acting as senators in a congressional session. They can bring light to societal issues such as advocating for safety on college campuses. They learn the art of argument to be able to utilize persuasion techniques in the real world.
These laptops and printer would allow for our students to be able to utilize resources in the same way their competitors do in local and traveling tournaments.
Research and relevant source citation is a crucial part of the event, and students would benefit from the donations as they do not currently have personal devices to ensure that they will be able to participate and have a fair chance at competition. The students who participate in this event are the most hardworking, dedicated and deserving students. They study, practice, and research for hours on end. This event does not have a season, but runs yearlong. We would be so appreciative for any donation that would help our students!
