Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love how bold, curious, and fiercely opinionated my debate students are. They can turn just about anything into a debate (yes, even whether toothpaste is spicy), and they thrive on digging deep, thinking critically, and speaking with confidence. It’s a classroom full of future leaders, lawyers, scientists, and at least one who insists they’re going to win every argument at the dinner table for the rest of their life.

The music stands and clipboards will be game changers for our debates.

The stands give students the chance to present like pros, helping them practice their poise and delivery while keeping their notes right at eye level. The clipboards allow for mobility, organization, and quick thinking, especially when rebuttals are flying fast. With these tools, our classroom will feel more like a real debate. Ensuring that all students are able to debate at the same time allows for more practice.
