This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school does not have a library. My students are in second grade but most of them are still learning how to read. I would like to give my students books that they can decode and feel proud of their progress in reading.

I want my students to experience the joy of reading this Christmas.

Many children do not know how wonderful reading is because they do not have the opportunity to spend time with books. They did not have the chance yet to find in books all the adventures and new journeys they could have in their lives.

I read to my students every day. It is one of their favorite parts of learning. They sit on the carpet looking at me excited for another story or new information.

This year we read so many fiction and nonfiction books and they have learned so much from books. I want my students to know that if they read they can create a better world...
