it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Three years ago, one of my students told me that building a gingerbread house in our classroom was the best day of his life. Since that December, I have been building gingerbread houses in the classroom with my students in December. This year I want to give them a Christmas party as well. My students are amazing children! Most of them overcame traumatic experiences like violence and poverty to come to this country. They are eager learners and know that they need to be determined so they can learn how to read, write, and do mathematics.
I want to bring a little magic to my students this Christmas.
The majority of these children live in difficult conditions and their parents cannot afford holiday gifts or treats. I want to give them a Christmas party in our classroom where they will have the opportunity to build gingerbread houses, share little gifts, and decorate our room for Christmas.
