Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Wouldn't you want YOUR child to be able to read and write? My kids want to learn and I need tools to help them be successful. As society revolves the expectations of Kinder students also change and they are expected to be able to read before they entire first grade.
My kids are in a low income school with no money to help teachers.
We as teachers are faced buying items out of our pocket or making the activities by hand. My kids want to learn and providing them with fun games that are literacy based is setting them up for success. Providing simple pointers with letters is an easy step in allowing them to look around their surroundings and look for environmental print and see that it is all around us. Finding items that begin with a certain letter helps them begin to associate letters/sounds. We can do this with your help!
My Project
Reading and writing is an essential in starting their adventure into Elementary. Simple pointers with letters on them help them find environmental print and associate letters with sounds. Phonetic activities helps them begin to sound out letters to make words. These are all fun activities they would have fun and not know that they are learning. What a dream to have learning fun! With these items requested my kids could begin the basic steps of reading. They will engage in letters and their sounds and begin to put three - four letter words and even begin to read simple sentences by stretching those letter sounds. With your help we can do this!
One of my own kids is autistic and when he was young I had a few teachers that went out of their way to believe in him.
He is now an Engineer and because of those few teachers he has been able to succeed. I want my students to know that I believe in them. Yes, they attend a low income school but they can also be Lawyers, Doctors, etc... Reading and Writing is a tool they will need to learn and learn it well. In my class I also have special need kids that could benefit from these items.
