My students need postage stamps. Each year students write a letter to their future self and we have 140 students in sixth grade every year. We need assistance to deliver their letters that they wrote.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
West Chicago is a diverse school with high needs. Our school has 1,306 students enrolled.
I have 140 students and see five different classes.
My students are from a low socio-economic background and maintain an eager attitude towards learning. They have a large range of learning abilities. Every day I am proud of their effort and hard work ethic. I try to find multiple ways to engage them and promote their learning.

My Project
Each year students write a letter to their future self. The writing assignment requires students to reflect upon their current relationship as a student and their desires for the future. Students write a letter addressed: "Dear future me," and develop a letter that addresses who they are currently.
Letters are delivered every year when students reach their senior year.
After four years have passed, students are able to have a wonderful memory delivered to their own homes that they created in the past. Students are reminded of their goals and aspirations. Before leaving high school, students are able to have a beautiful letter written by their own personal sixth grade self.
This assignment is a wonderful connection for students to their own selves. It is a reminder to be their best person and to create a future that empowers themselves. They are able to review their thoughts as an eleven year old and their memories from sixth grade. They included who they wish they become and it often assist students that are graduating, providing them an ability to evaluate who they were and who they are to become
Due to the large amount of students, we need assistance with postage stamps. Students are to self address envelops that will be delivered exactly seven years later.
