This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As you know, English learners (ELL) are a growing part of the K–12 student population. My classroom is culturally inclusive and inviting for all.
I want my students to be avid readers who will choose to read rather than play a video game!
My students need to read a wide variety of texts. I selected sets of literature books such as Charlie and Mouse, Rise of the Earth Dragon because these were their favorities. I will also use these in my literacy academy groups where I will hand them to the kids to form a literature circle.
The coloring books are for the students who want to stay in at recess and read or just relax and color.
