My Students
Our school is one of the most diverse in the district. We have a large population of students who speak English as their second language. Our entire school population gets free lunch and many of our children come from a very low socioeconomic background. Our school is the 5th smallest in the district out of 50 plus schools.
Our awesome school is one of the top elementary schools in Columbus with a CCRPI score of 6 out of 32 schools.
My Project
Students can rock and move quietly while focusing on instruction. Today, more and more children need to move around and have difficulty sitting in one place for any extended amount of time.
The use of alternative seating can aid students by allowing them to silently move in their seat while remaining focused on the task at hand.
Research indicates that these chairs improve concentration and they are extremely easy to move around and create alternative seating arrangements while helping maintain good posture. The children can move without disrupting others and we can keep focused on learning and not unnecessary distractions.
