My students need a Zhiyun Crane camera stabilizer to help me create content for my students that is more engaging for their flipped classroom instruction!
My students come from a very rural and poor area of South Carolina and are in need of caring, compassionate teachers that show them that their education is just as important as anyone else's in the state! The majority of students in my science classroom are excited to learn with the hands-on approach that I provide. They get to actually work with science, not sit at a desk and take traditional notes. The information they receive is from videos and tutorials that I create for them in short segments that relate real-world content to the subject matter.
My students are an extreme pleasure to have each and every day and they make doing my job all the more worth it!
Our classroom is based around a blended environment where some students are taking notes, working on an activity, or getting hands-on in a lab. It is controlled chaos when viewed from the outside! But this method excites my students and allows them the freedom to chose their path of learning and provides them ownership of their learning as well!
My Project
The best part about utilizing a flipped classroom is that I am able to get out of the classroom to create content for my students. By bringing my camera gear outside and filming the world around us, students are able to see their science topics in action!!
I spent a tremendous amount of time thinking of ways to enhance my student's experience with flipped classroom videos and try to model them based off videographers from YouTube!
Not only are these style of videos visually pleasing, they grasp the student's attention much better while absorbing the material!
Students LOVE this type of classroom set-up! They all work at various points in the content and, most importantly, at their own pace! By adding a stabilizer, students will be able to see science in action outside of the typical videos that are usually produced for a flipped classroom! Students want to SEE science and how it applies to them OUTSIDE of the classroom environment! This is the way to do it!
Students are enamored with youtube and spend so much time watching videos. Why not meet them at where they are and create videos that are more engaging, science related, and visually pleasing to show them how AWESOME science is!
