This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Thank you for helping the emotional support program at MCS! We are a K-8 school. These supplies will primarily be used with students within special education, specifically with a disability qualification of Emotional Disturbance or Other Health Impairment. You are ensuring they have tools and resources to allow them to regulate and access their education. Updating bulletin boards and creating a beautiful room makes students and staff feel optimistic, safe, and welcome. Providing sensory tools aids students in trauma informed grounding and de-escalation. Building in celebrations and gratitude/empathy jars will foster community, self-awareness, and responsibility. We are looking to actively build skills to independence and ultimately student success. Thank you for partnering with us.
