Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will help me create a safe, clean, and stressless environment for the 2024 school year. I wipe desks and commonly used areas. I have erase boards already but the mini erasers and markers will give students a chance for day's lesson review. Review often gives them confidence in the lesson objectives. I have de-stress breathing exercises we do as a class that allow them to feel calm. In my safe space, we focus on expressing on our emotions and thoughts in a "check-in" board in the classroom. The magnets will make it easy for them to place a magnet as a check-in. No student should be hungry and we offer free breakfast and lunch. If a student ever asks for a snack I never say I don't have anything. These selected healthier choice snacks will keep bellies happy.
The best environment for students to learn is a caring, clean, safe environment.
This is often established on day one in my classroom. It will truly make a difference in overall learning if I can provide this for my learners.
