it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every Friday in my ELA class, my students participate in Reading Fridays. This is a wonderful time that my students enjoy because that day they are free to read any book from our class library in lieu of a lesson.
Free Reading not only promotes literacy but inspires a love of reading among my students.
Some of my students have been requesting for new reading material that touches on in depth themes that explore a darker side of the traditional hero's story. These tales are not only dark but complex as the hero must navigate through dilemmas that put into question their moral codes. These stories will provide my students not only gripping storytelling that is entertaining but also tough lessons in the face of intense conflict.
