This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are so eager and talented, but money is very tight for them and their families.
This means the only exposure to the arts that my students get is through the work we do with them at school.
I take this responsibility very seriously. I believe that every child deserves and needs the arts to be well-rounded. This shouldn't be something that only families who are well-off get to experience.
This semester, one hundred and fifty students will be performing in our school dance concert. We are taking the audience through time by performing all the a variety of famous dance works. We will need long flamenco skirts and paper fans.
The students practice endlessly and anxiously awaiting this show all year long. As you can imagine, costuming this many students is very expensive. Donating to this project will give my students something positive to focus on.
Help me take them to a fantasy land far away from the challenges and struggles they face every day. Please show them that they matter.
