This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Pre-COVID, our school hosted 1-2 dances every year. These social gatherings were the highlight of many 8th-grade speeches and created fond memories for both students and staff. Unfortunately, our school hasn't hosted a dance since the fall of 2019! This school year, we've slowly begun reintroducing after-school events and assemblies during the school day. After two successful movie nights and an 8th-grade field trip...

We're ready to DANCE like it's 2019!

The materials in this project will go towards decorating our school's gym for a dance/feast fit for royalty! As the first dance in our 8th graders' middle school careers, they are so excited to bring this back to our school and to leave a legacy behind that they can be proud of. Beyond the decorations which are self-explanatory, the DVD player will be used during the dance to show winter-themed video clips on our projector (and later on for movie nights and science class as needed). The paper is a refill for our science classroom- used for important flyers, permission slips, and projects (including a fun winter-themed activity at our dance).
