This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a fourth grade teacher at a Title I school located in California. The majority of my students are of low socioeconomic background and do not always have the necessary materials to participate in different activities. It is always a joy to expose students to new things and see their minds and knowledge widen.
It is heartbreaking to see bright and creative students who have the potential to succeed, but can not because they can't afford to purchase the needed items.
These bright, hard-working, and gifted fourth graders are eager learners and need equipment to succeed.
My Project
Donations to this project will help my students have dance shoes. When my students are performing on stage in front of their family members and school staff they will be wearing their flamenco outfits. When team sports have outfits, and proper shoes, they feel more confident.
This team dance sport is enjoyed by the dancers, as well as the audience.
We practice once or twice a week after school, and our dancers are always eager to attend the class. They enjoy learning new moves and footwork. I am excited to see their faces when they learn they are going to get new dance shoes.
