My Students

My students are curious, innovative, and energetic. I teach in a public middle school in a lower-income part of Salt Lake County that serves approximately 1,200 students.

The dance program at my school is new, giving opportunities to students who have never had a chance to take dance before.

My Project

Having brand new costumes makes any dancer feel like a star on stage. We rarely get to purchase new costumes and usually will borrow costumes from other schools that aren't exactly what we were hoping for. These costumes will perfectly fit the new dance we're creating as a team for this semester.

Turning discs are something I never thought of purchasing, but when I asked my young dancers what fun things they could think of, this was it!

They will have a fun and unique experience working on their pirouettes with these cool tools.

Snacks and treats are such a huge motivator for students, and having a stock of non-perishables in my classroom will allow me to reward and motivate my awesome students.
