it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Real artists take the misery and sadness of life and translate it into art"-Josh Peck. Do you remember a special performance from when you were a child? I am trying to capture that same sense of wonder and magic for my students.
My students are a group of talented and imaginative children that love to perform.
Most of my students live in poverty but that doesn't mean their lives can't be rich in artistry. I teach in a struggling school in the South Bronx. Our students face many challenges in their life but they are spirited and hardworking.
My Project
The coming school year brings tremendous uncertainty. As a dance teacher, it's my job to bring the arts to my students no matter where we are learning. The one and only computer in my classroom is falling apart. This year I want my students to create our school musical by making a movie. Think the Sound of Music or High school Musical. A working computer for video and sound editing is essential for this goal. Regardless of whether we are in person or remote, a computer will ensure I can give my students the very best while staying safe.
