This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Each morning, my students check in online to tell me how they are feeling. This includes an option to mark that they are hungry. If they mark yes, they can choose a snack, no questions asked. Some eat it right away, and some save it for later. Either way, I know that they will be able to focus in class better if their bellies are full. It is also a small daily reminder that I care about their whole selves, not just what they learn. Thanks to your generosity, the students will have plenty of nutritious and delicious options such as different granola bars, GoGo SqueeZ fruit, fruit snacks, and cheese crackers to choose from over the next few weeks.
