This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are curious, creative, energetic, and hardworking, inspiring me to provide them with the very best each day I facilitate their learning. Even though the need for healthy food is widely known, my students still have a difficult time choosing snacks that promote health and strength.

During an intensive day of learning, my students need a healthy snack that both fuels their learning and promotes healthy eating.

As a healthy eater, I bring wholesome food for lunch. My students are curious about these foods and ask me questions. They often return with stories of how they tried a certain food I described to them during those conversations. They are eager to learn about healthy eating and want to put it into practice.

My Project

Daily healthy snacks like the Sensible Portion Veggie Straws, Nutri-Grain Cereal Bars, SmartFood Delight White Cheddar Popcorn, and Nabisco Ritz-Bits Peanut Butter Crackers will give students energy and fuel for their learning. The sensible portions will allow students to have a working snack that will not interrupt instruction and will be easy and quick to distribute. They will also teach them about portion size. Students will be encouraged to choose healthy snacks when they are not at school.

Daily healthy snacks like the Fruit Snacks will fuel students so they have the energy to persevere in their learning.

My students, like all students, deserve an extraordinary education without regard for their material wealth or resources. I see future doctors, lawyers, teachers, entrepreneurs, scientists, and even presidents as I look into the eyes of my students. Their parents want the best for them. A daily healthy snack is one small way to help students with a large impact.
