I love everything about my new 24 students. Everyone is special in their way and the all read at different levels. Half the class are English Learners and don't have books they can read daily at home. I would usually take my class to the school library to pick out a book but with distance learning this year, daily reading will be a challenge.
My Project
Many of my students don't have material at home for daily reading and writing. Having students at home will be a challenge and I want them to have interactive journals for daily writing practice and reading material.
The Lakeshore Reading Journal is perfect for a portion of their daily needs.
The Mindset Journal will built on their self confidence which will be needed while they work alone at home. The Lakeshore Learning reading cards with be used daily to evaluate their fluency growth on small zoom group classes according to their reading level. This is much better than the everyone reading the same story since many of the students are reading at different levels. I can scan the reading cards and assign them to the students according to their individual reading level and I will be able to assess them daily to chart their fluency improvements with this material.
