This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember how excited you were the day your teacher said you could actually play games in school? Imagine a classroom where the students get to experience learning and have fun playing games simultaneously every single day during math rotations and centers!

My school is in a low income area with a high population of minority students and first generation citizens.

They are so excited to learn but experience frequent frustration as they struggle to comprehend grade level material. My students need opportunities to have fun while learning and practicing math concepts to give them extra motivation and excitement for their learning.

My Project

Every day, we learn math in small group rotations to increase differentiation and success. During first best instruction, the student groups rotate between learning with the teacher, independent practice of today's math skill, and Daily 5 Math spiral review of previous math skills through 5 different categories of math games and centers. My students build up anticipation for math every day because they can't wait to complete their lesson and learning so they can go to math centers each day! Since my students work with math games and centers for a minimum of 20 minutes every day, they need new fun and exciting options to choose from for their math games and centers. All of the materials in this project will be placed in the options for students to choose during Daily 5 Math.
