Daily Math on Whiteboards
My students need new white boards to do our daily math that don't have huge scratches and big chunks missing.
Distracting chunks, scratches and dents make focusing on math very difficult!
I have a very dedicated group of fourth graders who love to be challenged in all areas.
Math and writing are what they strive for! We are a looping school so many of these students have been with the same friends since kindergarten and work together very well. We are also a school that prides ourselves on being a writing school and they take joy in writing small moment stories with lots of juicy details!
These whiteboards will be used during whole group math instruction. Each student will be able to have a whiteboard available to practice math problems quickly as the teacher displays them on the board. They will be able to share their thinking with their partners and show them how they solved the problems and explain their thinking. They will be able to self and peer assess quickly and make adjustments. Students will be more likely to be engaged in their learning, thus helping them reach and exceed grade level standards.
Donations to this project will help my students be excited to do math everyday because they will each have their own whiteboard to write and explore with.
They find math more exciting when they use a dry erase pen and whiteboard because it is different than the typical paper/pencil method.
