My Students

As a teacher in a Title I school where the majority of students are on free and reduced lunch, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, they love coming to school and have such a great attitude towards learning.

I teach in a special education classroom where my students all have disabilities and face challenges learning skills we take for granted.

They struggle achieving goals we have set for them, but work very hard to maintain them throughout the year.

I am always looking for ways to differentiate for all learners and meet the students where they are at. I also understand that students do not all learn the same way. Some need something more than conventional practices to be successful in their learning.

My Project

This requested math fluency kit will help my students with their number sense. My students need lots of visuals and this kit will provide that. The kit includes visual cards, math talks, 10 frame cards, number strings, Rekenreks, and so much more. I plan to have my students use these materials everyday during our math block.

I am excited about the math talks in this kit!

This function will help my students reason with numbers and mathematical concepts. My students do need help to communicate with math talks.
