Daily Living Skills in Action

Help me give my students the materials necessary to learn daily living skills. The KitchenAid mixers will help students have hands-on opportunities to practice some of the skills we are learning in class.

My Project

Our Independent Living Skills class helps introduce students to the basic skills necessary for independent living. This class will learn a variety of topics we all encounter in our daily lives. The funding of this project will help provide interactive/hands-on learning of cooking skills. Our focus consists of cooking, basic cleaning, the importance of hygiene, building and maintaining personal and professional relationships, being a team player, financial literacy, positive character traits, problem solving, goal setting, conflict resolution, and decision making. Many of these skills are taught through real-life scenarios which help students see how making logical choices impact their goals.

Providing the funds for kitchen tools and accessories such as the KitchenAid mixers will go a long way to provide real-life hands-on learning for my students.

Many of these students are passionate about working with not only their minds but their hands as well.
