it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are lively, confident children. They are mostly ESE and ELL students. The community the school is located in is a very needy area. Although not far from an affluent area, it lacks all the benefits from it.
The students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
The school is a Title I school. Students attend this school from nursery through high school. The students are constantly in need of supplies. The financial needs of their families are so great that, at times, it is impossible for them to bring them to school.
My Project
Imagine going to class without basic learning supplies needed daily. Can you imagine that? That’s the life many of my students experience right now. These materials will impact my class by helping provide basic classroom necessities for note-taking and learning. Help me help them focus on their learning and not on the lack of supplies. My school is an AVID school and purchasing 3-inch binders, sheet protectors, dry erase boards and dividers is difficult for families during this critical point in America where COVID-19 has not only impacted people’s lives physically/ emotionally but financially as well.
