We are located in an extremely overcrowded elementary school in New York. We work very hard and appreciate learning through laughter, fun, and play. It is a long school day when all we do is sit in our seats and work.
You often hear an explosion of laughter coming from my classroom.
A second grade is an awesome place for any child to be. I am a second-grade teacher for a very eager and excitable group of children. I am truly a lucky teacher.
My Project
It has been my experience that children love to work in journals that are colorful and interesting. Last year I was very fortunate in that I was funded for great journals for math, science and reading. My class were thrilled with their very own journals. They were very proud to take the journals home in June and show off all their work to their families.
This year, I noticed that Lakeshore has reading and math journals that teach and allow students to practice skills that are necessary for children in the second grade.
I am asking for forty Reader's Book Logs, forty Language Practice Journals and forty Daily Math Practice Journals. My students this year can greatly benefit from these fantastic journals. Not only will their education be reinforced by math and reading journals, but the journals provide space for these great children to show off their best work. Simply put, my students lives would become easier if their work was kept in a journal.
