Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My classroom is in need of some supplies to be fully prepared for the upcoming 2024 school year. My students are so deserving of high-quality intact materials for their first grade learning. We currently use cardboard book bins to hold books that are tailored to each student's interest and reading ability. Having high-quality plastic bins which will be much more helpful for long-term use and telling apart each other's bins by color.

All of these materials will be used daily.

We use headphones every day for students' individualized online learning. The headphones are essential for allowing them to focus on their own work. Many of my students do not have their own water bottles from home, so having them available at school, especially during the warmer months without AC is extremely helpful.

Finally, my 1st graders love the Elephant and Piggie series and there is high demand for them during independent reading. We currently only have 4 books from the series in our classroom library, so the box set will allow every student to read their own copy and practice early literacy skills.
