In order to develop a love for learning my students need the right materials to gain independence and confidence within themselves and to discover their unique talents and abilities.
I work in an inclusion classroom, and my students are a very diverse group of children.
I must have time to work one-on-one with students and provide extra support to small groups. In order to do this I set up an independent work program using the materials I have selected. If these materials are donated I will have time to reach every scholar while providing the remainder of the class with independent or partner work.
My Project
I want all my students to be successful and to gain a love for learning. The independent work program will allow this because each student will have to choose a different center to work on every day. Each child will receive a "work bin," (book organizers) that holds books according to their reading level and interests. I will also have a "word work" center with the Wikki Stik and stamp sets for another choice. The pocket and schedule chart will allow students to independently move their name to their choice and then they will record their choice on a "Daily 5" worksheet. This will promote teamwork and help students work together as well as independently. These resources will help set my class up for success!
This project is so important to me because I truly believe in each and every one of my students.
Every child is special and unique, and I want to help them discover their talents and abilities. I believe these materials will make my classroom a language rich learning environment. This program will have a very positive impact on my students because it will allow for everyone to work at their own pace and develop an independence that will last a lifetime.
