My students need a listening center. We already have all of the books and cd's, but no way to listen to them. This is such an important station for First grade!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a title one school, and we also are a 7 Habits school! It is such an amazing school to be a part of!
My students can be chatty, but it is just because they want to share with you all the important things in their lives.
They are the sweetest bunch of kids and so much fun to get to see everyday!
We are always wanting to expand our classroom with new ways of learning! We can't wait to see what we are able to accomplish this year!
My Project
In first grade, a listening center is so important because the students are able to hear a story and follow along. This helps them have the one to one correspondence with words, and this helps them learn new words and become better readers.
Not all students get to go home and have parents who are able to read to them each night.
This allows them to have that experience and reap the benefits in their school environment.
I am requesting the CD player so that we have a way to play the books that I have on CDs. This is something our school does not have. I am also requesting headphones for the children to listen to the stories with. This way outside noise is not a distraction and the story they are listening to will not distract other students.
I know that being able to add this center to my classroom will help benefit my students greatly! Thank you so much in advance!
