I am a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with several challenges, both in and out of the classroom.
My students are an amazing group of 3rd graders who are eager to learn and explore.
They are living a growth-mindset philosophy, embracing the new learning experiences and challenges, and are ready to stretch and grow their brain muscle. Children are like sponges, ready to soak up everything. It is my pleasure and duty to help shape their precious minds to love learning and be successful.
My Project
While we are wrapping up this school year, I am already thinking of ideas to make our classroom great for the incoming 3rd graders. Cricut machines were created to provide the option for creatively to leave our minds and transferred to tangible meaningful products.
I want to personalized student items such as a class t-shirt for field trips, student desk names, labeling school supplies, and personalized gifts.
Having personalized items will provide students with a sense of ownership. This type of activity will help boost self-esteem and create a sense of appreciation for the diversity in our classroom.
Not only will the Cricut machine serve as an incentive for students, but it will also make our classroom a beautiful, creative, and welcoming environment for all.
