My Students
My students are excited, motivated, talented individuals who know technology is the way of the future. We focus on bringing real-life situations into the classroom to help them prepare for life on their own when they go to college. Many students care for their families by working or taking care of younger siblings, and my classes give them skills they need to be successful at home with their families as well as when they live life on their own.
My students come from all walks of life and are eager to learn life skills that will help them in the real world.
Our school is nestled in the northwest corner of Louisiana and we pride ourselves on our family and community focus. As a first year teacher, I could not have asked for a more wonderful group of students to work with!
My Project
Giving my students the ability to use different sizes and types of knives will prepare them for work in a food-related setting. Having the cutting training tools will allow each kitchen to rotate through the different cuts and measurements they need to know in order to perform the skills well.

We are working tirelessly to prepare these students for culinary careers outside of high school. The ability to distinguish between cuts and tools is necessary for success and providing them with these new knives and cutting guides is a step in the right direction.
