This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every day in our middle school Innovation Lab, students arrive ready to bring their ideas to life—sketching blueprints, coding robots, and building models that reflect real-world solutions. These students are thinkers, tinkerers, creators, and future engineers. But as their projects become more ambitious, so does their need for tools that allow them to safely and efficiently shape their visions.

That’s why we’re requesting three Chomp Saws, safe, student-friendly cutting tools that allow for precise shaping of foam board, cardboard, and other lightweight prototyping materials.

These tools are ideal for classroom makerspaces—they're easy to use, require no electricity, and are specially designed with student safety in mind.

Our students love hands-on learning. They thrive when they can design, build, and iterate on their prototypes, whether they’re creating robotic pets, architectural models, or wearable tech. The Chomp Saw will help bring their ideas into the third dimension—literally.

Right now, students often have to wait their turn to use our limited cutting tools, and many projects are slowed or scaled back due to a lack of safe equipment. With three Chomp Saws available, small groups can work in parallel, learning the value of collaboration, iteration, and hands-on problem-solving.

These saws will build more than just projects—they’ll build confidence, creativity, and career-ready skills. From teamwork to technical precision, from design thinking to perseverance, our students will walk away not just with a finished product, but with the mindset of an innovator.
