This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Can you remember learning to write your name? Once that hurdle is jumped, they've got to learn to write numbers, words, and create sentences. Shiny, decorated pencils and dry erase markers make the writing fun and productive.

My students are young, kindergarten learners.

Many of whom did not attend Pre-school. They attend a public elementary school in the San Fernando Valley of California. They've set out on a challenge and are working hard to learn all that is asked of them. Reading, writing, and arithmetic are new ideas to them. State standards and district mandates ask a lot of them. There is much that they must learn. I need your help to make their learning fun, motivating, and age appropriate.

My Project

They're only 5 years old. Learning to write and count is hard. Using fun materials can make it easier. With you help they can be motivated to learn, create, and advance. Markers, pencils, puzzles, and a pencil sharpener are items that can seem mundane. I know that these materials will make all that they must accomplish more entertaining and attainable.

Kindergarten students must write their names, high frequency words, numbers to 30, and create sentences.

The use of a colorful pencil and a dry erase marker make these tasks more interesting and almost fun. Help a kindergarten student learn, grow, mature, and have a little bit of fun while getting there.
